— 2021 UPDATE —
Normally at this time of year the AtlSecCon board would be feverishly (no pun intended) reviewing CFP submissions and meeting regularly. It appears Covid-19 will impact the conference scheduled for this year (2021) as we continue to observe other provinces and countries including our own struggle with the resurgence of infections.
The board did consider a virtual conference option and after much debate have decided to not proceed virtually. We did review various platforms and even attended some virtual conferences ourselves including a virtually hosted Halifax Area Security Klatch. To state it simply… a virtual event just will not capture the magic of the AtlSecCon experience, the questions after a presentation, the hallway discussions along with the making of new friends and seeing old ones. Lastly, we cannot forget the “sociable” as well!
AtlSecCon has grown organically year after year since our first conference and we attribute this success to the value that we were able to consistently deliver (this includes the generous sponsorship from our vendors with speaker and booth submissions). We genuinely feel that a virtual conference will diminish the value that both our attendees and sponsors derive from AtlSecCon.
We would like to collectively thank you all for your support and patience, we are committed to hosting AtlSecCon again in the future once this is behind us. Stay healthy, better days are coming, until we meet again.
The board of directors of the Atlantic Security Conference has been closely monitoring the situation with Covid-19 and its potential impact on the health and safety of our attendees sponsors and their loved ones and we have decided in light of the risks associated with infection that our 10th annual conference will be canceled for 2020 and will return in April of 2021.
If you have already purchased tickets for AtlSecCon there a few options, firstly we can refund your ticket in full or we can carry it over for attendance in 2021, the choice is yours. Please let us know via email to firstname.lastname@example.org prior to March 30th, 2020. If no response is received at that time your ticket will automatically be carried over for attendance in 2021.
Thank you for your understanding during these unprecedented times, please look after yourselves and your loved ones so we can see you all next year.
